Cardinal Health Rolls Out Kendall DL Multi Vital Signs Monitor

Cardinal Health has launched Kendall DL Multi, a new multi-parameter, single-patient use monitoring cable and lead wire system for continuous cardiac activity, blood oxygen level, and temperature monitoring with one point of connection.

The Kendall DL Multi system was designed to travel with the patient from admission to discharge. It features technology that lowers the incidence of false “leads off” alarms and motion-related artifacts in electrocardiogram (ECG) tracings—recorded disturbances because of patient movement.

This helps acquire cleaner ECG tracings and lets clinicians more effectively prioritize care, according to Cardinal Health.

Because Kendall DL is a single-patient use product, it helps minimize cross-contamination due to reusable lead wires for monitoring. This helps reduce infection risk and the need for further hospital stays or readmissions. The company also offers reprocessing for the device.

“This innovative addition to the Kendall DL portfolio removes complexity for busy care teams, and at the same time, helps enhance clinical performance with multi-parameter monitoring,” said Rachel Schott, global vice president for specialty products at Cardinal Health. “The product streamlines steps that clinicians must follow to provide effective care and controls common lead wire clutter with its built-in cable management system.”

In November 2024, the company launched its Kendall SCD SmartFlow compression system, which delivers customized, intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) to increase blood flow in at-risk patients.
